Scott Van Vliet Once a Developer, Always a Developer

My friend Pete and I arrived in Orlando yesterday afternoon for Microsoft TechEd 2005, and the first thing that I can say is "bravo" to those folks who live here and can deal with the humidity!  Thanks to Pete's mad skillz, I got a nice upgrade to First on the flight hear, and found myself drooling on the poor sap sitting next to me ;)

After checking into our hotel, we ventured out to the Kennedy Space Center of the East Coast of Florida, only to be turned away as that Visitor Center was closed.  Not to be disappointed by our lack of planning, we headed down through Cape Canaveral and into Cocoa Beach.  This was the first time I had seen the Atlantic; not much different than my Pacific back home.

One thing I noticed throughout our journey was the abundance of fireworks superstores.  We stopped off at one (Sky King Fireworks) and I almost bought the entire store!  M80s, huge-ass sky rockets, roman candles – the works.  I won’t say whether or not we bought some, but we *may* have … Good times.

I’ll be posting more from TechEd later in the week.

Indeed, in spite of the hot weather, the city is still very popular to tourists and visitors. - Paramount Song
