Scott Kuhl Warning: I may have no idea what I am talking about!

It's been a while since I checked the state of add-ins for Windows Live Writer, and there are quite a few now.

Some of the more interesting ones:

Insert Video

Insert a video from MSN SoapBox, Google Video, YouTube, MySpace Video, Yahoo! Video, muveeMix and now myvideo.de videos. Usage is easy, just click on the Insert Video link, then copy and paste the link into the text box. Alternatively, you can now just paste the video link into the blog entry and the plugin will do the rest. Now fully compatible with Windows Live Spaces. Feedback and comments should left on http://scottisafooldev.spaces.live.com or emailed to wlm@scottisafool.co.uk

Insert Code

Insert Code for Windows Live Writer will format a snippet of text in a number of programming languages such as C#, HTML, MSH, JavaScript, Visual Basic and TSQL. Special thanks to Jean-Claude Manoli (http://manoli.net/csharpformat/) for providing an excellent C# formatting library.

Screen Capture

This will load the Url and take a screen capture of the web site as it appears in Internet Explorer. It will then load the image into your blog posting. You can click on Insert Screen Capture and it will ask you for the Url. You can also just drag and drop the Url from your browser into the Live Writer Window.

Paste from Visual Studio

Easily transfer syntax highlighted source code from Visual Studio to elegant HTML in Windows Live Writer. Copy from Visual Studio and insert directly to Windows Live Writer to maintain your unique syntax highlighting settings.

MSDN Locator

This plugin allows you to locate a namespace, class, method, property etc in the .NET Framework and inserts a link in the post to the MSDN Library with a description of the link. For more information go to http://www.wictorwilen.se/

Check out all 35 (and growing)
