Problem #2 – A coding sabbatical? Maybe I’m sad, maybe I should get out more, but even my home pc has to have SQL Server and Visual Studio on it. I’m sure that everyone has their own little routine for setting up new pc’s, but I see no need to deviate from my regular plan with a home machine. Installing the software pt 1
After the love-in that was my installation of Vista, came the tricky bit – installing the applications and it was never going to be as pretty. Problem #1 – the vanishing drive. I installed iTunes (why I hate this application will be another post) and the DivX drivers (it was late, I had nearly finished my wine, and I wanted to watch some comedy). Installing Vista
So, I bought a new external USB drive to back up my machine. I ordered the extra memory that I'd been hankering after. I made sure that every disk I might ever need was to hand and I cracked open a bottle of wine (this step is entirely optional - the author does not advocate operating machinery of any kind whilst inebriated).
