Lou Vega a thump to the brain

that a global corporation in this day and age has to put up a notice like this:

When I was on a project for a major DoD web site we ran a simple active/active web cluster front end with an active/passive data cluster on the backend and ended up with very little down time...especially due to scheduled maintenance.

I just don't get it - especially from an IT company.

Scheduled maintenance? Hmmm. My translation of this message is:

"Ooops. The site has gone down and we really do not know why. If we say "scheduled maintenance", it will appear as though we intended to bring the site down intentionally. Yeah, that's the ticket, maintenance. We are hoping that we will figure out the problem and have it fixed by 2:00pm."
