Just received a tip the other day on how to get a MacBook to see the USB drives of Samsung and Creative Zen mp3 players as well as other players listed here.

The magic software you need is XNJB http://www.wentnet.com/projects/xnjb it's a unix app to access external usb devices.
I don't yet have a MacBook (hint hint, any donations are welcome =)) but thought I'd post this tip for others who might find it useful.
