Take a look, Microsoft has created a public SharePoint site and one of the MSDN/TechNet Bloggers has moved over there.  I wonder how long before the others start porting their blogs over?

It really makes sense to me to have Microsoft bloggers using the SharePoint 2007 blogging functionality.  Microsoft.com was the first part to show that SharePoint can scale and moving their blogs over will just prove the point even more.

Congrats on the move!

It's too bad they didn't do something other than the default skin though...still very kewl, I agree.

The one thing that seems to get lost in Microsoft's showcase of having Microsoft.com moved to the Sharepoint 2007 platform is cost: the connector you have to purchase to allow for unlimited access to an externally facing website based on Sharepoint 2007 is huge! (around $30,000 Cdn) So for most websites, that's not so attractive since they can get a full featured site built for that cost. It'll be interesting to see how Microsoft will market the public-facing site functionality in 2007 and justify the price tag.
