Conference Laptop Suggestions

Saturday, March 1, 2008 1:52 PM

So I'm doing a bunch of traveling over the next few months to conferences and what not, and I'm not overly keen on bringing my beast with me on all of them. I'm considering getting a "conference laptop"...something small and portable yet powerful enough to run VPC's when I'm doing my talks.

Just curious what you guys use when traveling and what you've found works best/worst out of the small laptop market.

The Dell 1330 was my second (or perhaps third) choice when I was looking for a new laptop. A lot of folk at Microsoft seemed to be using it happily the last time I went for a visit.

The other one I was considering was an Asus. I forget which model now, and they seem to have new models hourly. Still, they're a great set of machines, with better pricing than "the big guys". 3/1/2008 8:55 PM | Kent Sharkey
