Incubus was awesome! The concert was on Friday, July 20, 2007 at City Market in Kansas City.

City Market is a really awesome place to have a concert, because it quickly turns into a mosh pit, which I stayed out of this time around.

Be sure to get there early, if you want a decent parking spot.

It has a max capacity of 10,000 so, it's not unbelievably crowded (unless, again you get into the pit). Me and my buddy Ross were able to stand on the fringe, and enjoy it from relatively afar.

It was pretty humid out, and I ws wearing jeans, which added to the effect, but overall it was a great night. There were occasional breezes, and the Miller Lite stands helped with coping as well.

Simon Dawes opened, and he was pretty good. Supposedly, he's got a song on the Spider Man 3 soundtrack. You'll have to confirm that yourself. During his act, Ross and I went to get some BBQ from Winslow's BBQ, which rocked. I had the burnt ends and fries, and Ross had the wings. The timing was perfect... by the time we finished, got a beer, and got back into the group, Incubus was getting ready to start.

Some of the songs they played are (in no particular order)

  • Dig (got some good video footage on my phone)
  • Drive
  • Anna Molly
  • Wish You Were Here
  • Stellar
  • Pardon Me
  • Oil and Water
  • Love Hurts
  • Megalomaniac

There were a few jam sessions here and there, which left time to go grab another beer. If I've missed any, be sure and let me know.

All in all it was a great concert, especially since it was free. I won the tix from 96.5 The Buzz. Special thanks to Dick Dale and Dr. Kevin Quinn, esq. for the tix.

City Market is a great place to see a show. I've seen 311 there many times.

Just fyi, but they never played "Pardon Me." I really wish they had--it's one of my favorites.
