Portland Code Camp 3.0 is nearly upon us and I hope you are as excited as I am (well, I might be excited and just a little nervous too, but you don't need to be nervous, Code Camp is a great experience, we will get to why I'm nervous in just a bit).  Running May 19th to the 20th, Portland Code Camp looks like it's going to be another great experience this year. If you are a developer in the Portland, Oregon area, you NEED to attend this event. It is a free event, so just get registered and drive yourself on up to Washington State University.  and prepare to be immersed into a variety of technologies presented by people just like you.

Speaking of presenters, Code Camp is still looking for more sessions and presenters so if you know a little bit about something and want to share, make sure you get your session submitted. It's the variety of sessions that makes Code Camp such a great time for everyone. The wealth of community knowledge shared at this event is overwhelming.

And, just so you don't feel like I'm asking you to do something that I won't. Yes, this year I have officially submitted a session and will be presenting on "Beginning 2D development with XNA". I have not done any public speaking before outside of high school, so don't expect to be WOW'd by my presentation skills (care to give me any tips Rory?), but I am stepping up and trying to help out and share the little knowledge I have from playing with XNA.

So head on over to Code Camp, get some great networking in, make some new friends, learn about some technologies you're interested in and watch me stumble and stammer my way through making a 2D game in front of a roomful of laughing geeks. (my eyes twitch when I'm nervous....)

Should be a good time for all and I hope to see you there :)

(for those of you who can't make it to the Portland Code Camp, I will be releasing the game and the tutorial for making the game on my site at XNADevelopment.com, but that won't go up until the week after Code Camp)

Dude... you don't need any tips :)

I'm positive you'll do well. You're a highly intelligent and well spoken guy.

That's all you need - plus something to talk about, and you've got that.

Just be yourself and stuff. People will dig it.

Code Camp talks are probably among the most fun to do, anyway. People are forgiving, and one of the points of Code Camp is to give people a chance to try out public speaking.

It couldn't be perfecter :)

Thanks Rory :)

Comment MUCH appreciated. We'll see how it goes...lol, no matter how it turns out it's at least going to generate a blog post.

I wonder if anyone out there will take notes about how much they love me like someone once upon a time did when they first heard you speak? I wonder....
