Microsoft to charge for Office Beta
What? <do Jeff Gerstman impression> Yes, Microsoft is going to charge for Office Beta downloads at the rate of $1.50 per download. What? Seriously, I would really like to know the reasoning behind this. Its just too easy for us bystanders and testers to come up with a gazillion negative comments about this, but what were their thinking behind this. The Fallout
This is interesting. First AMD buys ATI for over $ 5 Billion Soon followed by Intel pulls ATI chipset license Very stiff competition eh? Still considering ATI by itself, it has a long way to got regain the crown of graphics cards. Right now NVidia kicks ass. Which also should be soon followed by the comment that right now Intel kiss ass as well. Technorati : amd, ati, chipset, graphics, intel Cross-posted from ......

#1 on my Wishlist for the Zune
Not sure if MS will listen to me but my #1 request for the Zune/Argo is that it should support the Compact Framework. I am very dissatissfied with the ipod, I mean the ipod in itself is the most closed system I have ever come across. You can not do anything with the content you store on the device other than what is in built. I do hope that Microsoft sees this shortcomming and makes the Zune a cool platform mobile content platform for which apps can be written for. Technorati : Argo, Zune Cross-posted ......

The Canary Project is a novel project that demonstrates that Global Warming is real and is happening right now. Its Difficult Giving Up Control
I am having a personal dilemna at the moment. I gave my present employer my notice a few weeks back, and my current duties are mainly that I should transfer responsibilities to a "new somebody". Now throughout most my career I have been leading teams, and I believe I have an instinctive urge to jump right in and tell folks how things really should be done. Perhaps thats why I was leading teams in the first place. But now I have to play a back seat role, and this is very difficult for me to do. |Every ......

Formula 1 and Microsoft
Engadget has the scoop on a deal with FIA and Microsoft The article says that the FIA and Microsoft have come to an agreement where Microsoft will exclusively supply the ECUs for the F1 cars for the 2008 season. I kinda suspected that Microsoft could sponsor some F1 team, but never this. Link Technorati : F1, FIA, Microsoft Cross-posted from ......

Its happening - IM Interoperability
Check this out Yahoo Messenger interoperating with Live Messenger. A friend and I tried to get this work about a month or so back. Biggest trouble we had was being able to add to the IM list. I mean in Live, if I were to add wouldnt it just think that that was just a passport id? But its good to note that others have had success. Should revisit and give it a try.
